Certifications are a whole subject. Throughout my career I met people who are very supportive and very against. In Argentina, we would say that there is a crack (-;) But without entering into political issues, this is something that calls for debate.
In my Twitter, account I launched a survey to know what my followers thought and the results were: 65% in favor and 3%% against them. The surprising thing is that 75% of the people who are in favor of certifications, are not certified. It seems the famous saying "Do what I say but not what I do". Without being badly thought, we could assume that they are studying and are preparing for certification.
If you want to know more information about the profile of people that certificate you can enter to this report that contains data from 2016-2017. In this video I summarize some conclusions of that report. One of them is the distribution of certificates by continent:
- 48% from Europe
- 23% from North America
- 20% from Asia
- 4% from South America
- 3% from Africa
- 2% of Oceania.
