Difference between error, defect and failure

The difference between error, defect and failure is merely theoretical. I mean, it is not something that is important to work in testing but it is something that you need to know to pass the Foundation Level certification.

The summary would be:

- The error is a human action that produces an incorrect result.

- The defect is the manifestation of that error in the code.

- The failure is the manifestation of the defect when using the system.
